TRASH?! School at Eindhoven Loves You 2025

Curious about the TRASH?! School immersive community empowerment projects at the NET(ANDERS) pop-up experience? Dive into our AI-generated audio recap of the spring 2025 edition of Eindhoven Loves You, live at Central Station from April 22 to May 7, 2025.

TRASH?! School is joining the spring 2025 edition of the “Eindhoven Loves You” initiative with free immersive, interactive, and socially conscious creative experiences for community empowerment in the heart of Eindhoven.

By merging sustainable fashion, participatory art, and community storytelling, we're inviting locals and visitors to connect with the city and with each other—through clothing, words, and shared moments of transformation.

Our community empowerment projects Love Letters to Eindhoven and the TRASH?! Fashion FREE Shop powered by Emmaus Eindhoven - run across two weeks, from April 22 to May 7, 2025, and are hosted inside the Central Station in Eindhoven as a collaboration between multiple interdisciplinary players in the local scene.

(NET)ANDERS is not an exhibition. It is a sustainable social space, a living lab of love, community and environmental empowerment, and sustainable life, fashion, and design. And you’re invited to play a part in it!

The Concept: Two Activations, One Heartbeat

At its core, the “Eindhoven Loves You” project is about mutual recognition: the city embraces its people, and its people are given space to reciprocate that love—in their own way.

TRASH?! School is contributing to this vision through two interconnected activations:

TRASH?! Fashion FREE Shop powered by Emmaus Eindhoven

At the crossroads of sustainable fashion and social exchange, the TRASH?! Fashion FREE Shop powered by Emmaus Eindhoven is a temporary installation that functions as a zero-euro fashion boutique. But it’s more than a store. It’s a space of transformation, imagination, and dialogue around sustainability, identity, and dignity.

The TRASH?! Fashion Free Shop, originally inspired by similar recent initiative at Utrecht Central Station, invites you to rethink what it means to shop—and what fashion can mean beyond trends.

This bold, zero-cost pop-up offers passersby a curated collection of pre-loved clothing in black, white, red, and grey — signature colors of TRASH?! School’s rebellious visual identity.

Every item is sourced from Emmaus Eindhoven, lovingly selected to celebrate sustainability, style, and radical self-expression.

  • Explore our curated selection of upcycled clothes, shoes, and accessories.

  • Take a piece of pre-loved fashion and level up your styling game.

  • Pay with a picture, testimonial, or your time.

  • Style yourself and others, capture your look, and join the sustainable fashion revolution.

In a world where fast fashion fuels burnout and overconsumption, the TRASH?! Fashion Free Shop offers a playful, public antidote: a space to restyle not only your wardrobe but your relationship with consumption and care.

Love Letters to Eindhoven & the Tree of Love

Why do you love Eindhoven?

Maybe it's the bike rides at sunset, the creative chaos, the hidden corners, or the people who saw you when you couldn’t see yourself. Whatever your story, we want to hear it.

Love Letters to Eindhoven invites you to pause, reflect, and share.

Write a handwritten love letter — to the city, a person, a memory, or a feeling — and hang it on the Tree of Love - an upcycled collaborative art installation originally created for Dutch Design Week 2022.

By writing and sharing, you become a part of a living collection of voices and stories that reflect the diversity, emotion, and connection rooted in this city.

Come hang your love letter. Whether poetic, playful, or profane, your words matter. They’ll be displayed on the Tree throughout the event, preserved in our digital archive of community love stories, and turned into a book of love letters to Eindhoven.

Open Writing Sessions: 17:00 - 19:30

Why This Matters

Eindhoven is more than a tech hub. It’s a city of stories and humans — some visible, others hidden between moments at train stations, on sidewalks, in thrift shops, and in seven-hour encounters that change the course of lives.

TRASH?! School’s immersive creative experiences bring these stories forward.

They celebrate circular creativity, human connection, and the type of spontaneous magic that occurs when people are allowed to co-create at public space.

This initiative not only reclaims waste as a resource—it reclaims attention, emotion, and presence in a world often too fast to notice.

NET(ANDERS): Building a Stronger Eindhoven Together

The TRASH?! School immersive experiences are part of NET(ANDERS) — a united response by over 15 diverse social organizations in Eindhoven working toward a more inclusive, equitable city. This coalition blends energy, creativity, and social innovation to tackle challenges like inequality, exclusion, and disconnection. From Emmaus to Cities of Learning, from Gilde Plus, Kobane, Radio 4 Brainport, to social designers, each partner contributes unique perspectives, skills, and networks.

Together, we're not just imagining a better city—we’re building it.
