Creative Empowerment & Community Connection
Join the Program and Get Featured as a Creative Innovator in the Future Parade at Maker Days, Eindhoven on Sept. 27-28, 2025
This program is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports (VWS) and developed in collaboration with international experts in creative well-being, sustainable design, and community action.
It is free and open to all, but specifically designed to empower people aged 12–30 to gain practical life skills, explore their potential, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
This program is part of Maatschappelijke Diensttijd (MDT) and offers participants the opportunity to grow personally and make meaningful social impact through cross-cultural and cross-generational interactions and collaborations.
PROGRAM LAUNCH & DURATION
The DARE TO RE:PLAY program launches at 18:00 on June 27, 2025 as a part of the Creative Connections Initiative hosted inside Central Station Eindhoven.
The program sessions take place every Friday from July 5 to mid-September at various venues across Eindhoven.
After registering, participants receive full details about each session’s location and start time.
PROGRAM GRAND FINALE
The program concludes with group participation in the Future Parade on September 27 & 28, a large-scale public event during Maker Days Eindhoven. Participants present their creations, perform, or support behind the scenes — becoming a united team of creators and changemakers in a high-visibility showcase seen by thousands.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Individual Intake & Learning Path Design
Each participant begins with an intake session to define their goals, strengths, and preferred contribution pathways. This ensures personalized development in technical, creative, or professional domains, aligned with the program’s overarching community mission.
Weekly Creative Empowerment Sessions (Fridays)
Participants engage in hands-on, in-person sessions combining guided workshops and open-ended creative labs.
Guest Expert Workshops with professionals such as Geert Tiersma, Janine Wetzel, and Jamie van Duuren (focused on textile upcycling, design, and tech-art fusion).
Material Exploration Labs offering safe, flexible environments to test tools, concepts, and forms of expression with on-demand guidance.
Project-Based Collaboration
Participants can work individually or as part of teams, developing creative projects within shared “community canvases” (e.g. upcycling an old Dutch Design Week installation into a futuristic multimedia artwork on wheels or turning discarded wedding dresses into visionary wearable artworks) or bringing in their own concepts to develop with expert support.
Learning Framework
The program is powered by the Creative Play OS framework — a modular, cross-disciplinary approach rooted in embodied play, open-ended exploration, and practical creativity.
Built as an Operating System rather than a fixed method, the Creative Play OS empowers educators, coaches, mentors, and facilitators to design fluid, immersive experiences where learning becomes natural, joyful, and sustainable.

PARTNERS, EXPERTS, RESOURCES...
Parktheater Eindhoven offers a dynamic and inspiring stage for self-expression, creative exploration, and emotional release through the performing and visual arts.
From music and dance to photography, painting, poetry, and improvisation, this iconic venue provides a professional yet welcoming environment for participants to reconnect with their creative instincts and experiment with diverse modes of expression.
Workshops and curated experiences are designed to unlock the transformative power of art as a tool for both self-empowerment and community contribution.
MAD Emergent Art Center is the experimental engine of the program, powering the tech domain with cutting-edge tools and boundary-pushing methods that invite participants to imagine, prototype, and experience new realities.
Here, in-person participants can gain access to a vibrant playground of creative technologies and storytelling interfaces, including improvisational software, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, sound design, interactive installations, and narrative architecture.
These tools are integrated into workshops and co-creation labs led by technologists, designers, and facilitators who specialize in using emerging media for emotional processing, identity exploration, and innovation under pressure.
With nearly 30 years of expertise, Janine Wetzels and her Eindhoven-based Textiellab‑040 lab offer a rich, hands-on environment for participants to experiment with sustainable textile techniques—whether weaving, knitting, tufting, dyeing, or embroidery—with materials rescued from pre-loved and discarded sources.
Textiellab‑040’s is the program’s co-creative space for textile resurrection and fashion art, where seasoned facilitators guide participants in using preloved textiles and sustainable materials as both canvas and toolkit for personal reinvention.
PIZZA GEERT
With nearly two decades of grassroots cultural work, Geert Tiersma—affectionately known as “Pizza Geert”—has transformed his Eindhoven-based creative haven into a living archive of experimentation, community, and sound. What began as a local gathering place now pulses as a hybrid space: part pizza salon, part instrument museum, and part workshop playground for radical imagination.
Geert’s venue is the program’s co-creative playground for circular design—where junk becomes jam, trash turns to tunes, and learning feels like play.
Participants are invited to explore handcrafted instruments, many built from discarded materials, and experiment with their own forms of DIY sonic storytelling, guided by Geert’s blend of irreverent creativity and deep local roots.
Whether you're crafting a drum from a tin can or composing a new rhythm for your life, this offbeat atelier offers an open invitation to play, repurpose, and reclaim the noise of everyday life—one beat, one slice, one idea at a time.
DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT HUB
Inside the DigiHub, you'll find a rich archive of recorded sessions, behind-the-scenes moments, thematic deep-dives, tutorials, interactive guides, creative prompts, interviews, playlists, toolkits, and community-generated content during the program duration.
This digital space is designed not as a one-time course platform but as a living archive and empowerment engine: a space to explore, reflect, replay, and rewire.
